Just my 2 Cents: I think you still have the solution in your sources:

I use the feature of “Automatically approval”. That assigns a free room to a new reservation automaticaly after submit the reservation.

If there´s no free romm avaible for the booked period, the “Automatically approval” routin doesn’t assign a room to the reservation and let it “pending” (ausstehend) status.

Why don´t use this check-routine some steps before, if a customer asked the system for a free room in a specific periode?

Maybe as a second/cross check after the normal check?
