this bug has created a way bigger issue then just the payment update function. because of the way the software stores payments it basically overwrites the last payment. in effect you dont record payments, you actually add the new amount to the old amount and record what the client has paid. as a result any edit that was done during this last bug has deleted any payments your client has made. i knew the software had a payment history flaw since the begining so i created a custom note field and added payment details in that area. its impairative that users are made aware of this oversight in design as well as the bug so they can take measures accordingly. clients dont like the idea that you mishandled their money and will be a negative for any business who has now lost this critical data. in the future more testing needs to be done by the developer so these type of catastrophes are avoided. if someone loses payment records it creates a legal issue in most states in the usa.
